Marsh Kayaking

   

If you’re the most enthusiastic of adventurers, this paddle is for you. This is a moderate paced tour allowing paddlers to explore a wider variety of Folly’s scenic marshland. Our half day (three hour) tour, typically explores the estuary systems surrounding one of South Carolina’s largest remaining undeveloped marsh islands, Long Island. Long Island is abundant with flora, fauna and rich cultural history. Marsh tours provide sightings of Loggerhead Sea Turtles, American Wood Storks (both of these animals are on the SC Endangered Species List)  and local waterfowl. Here paddlers will have opportunities to witness Atlantic bottlenose dolphins occasionally strand feeding along the Lowcountry’s pluff mud banks. Marsh kayaking is definitely one of our best tours for dolphin watching as pods routinely are seen within a few feet of our kayaks.
