Morris Island Lighthouse Eco-Tour

Join us as we explore the ebb and flow of Folly’s surrounding Tidal Estuaries. Home to more than 70,000 life forms, salt marshes are one of our country’s most protected natural resources. Traveling through the estuaries on board a 23’ bay boat, we’ll try our luck with a cast net and discover creatures beneath the surface and in our crab traps. In our search for native wildlife, you’ll be amazed at the breathtaking scenery, abundant bird life and catch a glimpse of our Atlantic bottlenose dolphins.While viewing the dolphins, you may have the opportunity to see these extraordinary animals perform a hunting strategy  known as Strand Feeding. Strand Feeding is an adaptive hunting technique the dolphins have made famous to the Lowcountry. The exploratory boat cruise will take us through treasured tidal creeks to Morris Island Lighthouse where you will have the opportunity to set out on foot and explore the historic island and its many shells. Tideland Treasures is a unique hands-on Lowcountry experience for the entire family.

Dolphin Eco-Tour

Board our 23’ bay boat as we explore Folly’s inlets, creeks and marshes in search of Atlantic bottlenose dolphins. Learn about South Carolina’s only inshore marine mammal while getting an up-close and personal experience like no other. This charter will cruise the tidal creeks in search of dolphins and their unique hunting technique known as Strand feeding. Strand feeding occurs when a single dolphin or pod of dolphins drive concentrated schools of fish toward the pluff mud banks where fish become trapped between the mud banks and dolphins. This technique of feeding is observed only on the East Coast in this area of South Carolina.

Chartered Sunset Cruises

As the sun sets over the marsh, colors come alive in the Lowcountry. The tranquility of the water brings peace to the day. Relax among friends and family, this is what Folly is all about. Come join us as we cruise and explore the back waters of Folly Beach as the sun sets to the west. Along the cruise, participants will have the opportunity to experience the sights and sounds of the Lowcountry as it prepares for dusk. In our search for native wildlife, you’ll be amazed at the breathtaking scenery, abundant bird life and up close encounters with Atlantic bottlenose dolphins.

Fort Sumter/ Morris Island Lighthouse Charters

Come and enjoy all the scenic views the Lowcountry has to offer. This tour starts out in the saltwater estuaries of Folly Island and explores the waterways leading to the Charleston Harbor. Traveling through the estuaries, one will experience  an abundance of Lowcountry wildlife including waterfowl, aquatic sea turtles andAtlantic bottlenose dolphins. At the Harbor, one will have the opportunity to explore historic Fort Sumter from the water. Heading back, the captain will set course for historic Morris Island and its pristine lighthouse to explore around the cultural landmark and give guests an opportunity to do some world class shelling along the way.

Inshore Fishing Charters

Join our captain as we travel Folly’s creeks and marshes to experience the best fishing the Lowcountry has to offer. Red Drum (redfish, spot tail), Spotted Sea Trout, Flounder, Sheepshead and various seasonal species are some of the fish you’ll have a chance to catch. We proudly practice a catch and release program that is optional to the fisherman. All anglers are provided with a state required saltwater fishing license, fishing poles, bait and stocked ice.

Requirements: Anglers of all ages are welcome. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
